KAM Finalist at Destination Fame
KAM REACHES FINAL OF DESTINATION FAME
A MORAY hairstylist made it to the top 12 in a national competition
designed to find an on-trend look for 2011.
Karen Thomson, of Kam Hair & Body Spa in Lossiemouth, was selected from
thousands of entries from across the UK and Ireland in the Matrix
Destination Fame event.
A panel of independent judges took 16 hours to scrutinise entries in the major industry showcase, designed to showcase the “positive energy,
creativity and daring attitude” of stylists.
The 12 finalists then had to head to London for the final where they had to recreate their look whilst the judges watched and asked them questions. They also had to present their model to the panel of top industry judges telling them how they got their inspiration for the look and what it would mean to win the competition.”
Also in London was KAM beauty therapist Vivienne Curran, who did a great job creating the model’s make-up.
Despite not winning, Karen Thomson, who owns KAM, said it was a great experience and an honour to be chosen as one of the final 12.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t win. But there were only 12 of us chosen from across the UK and Ireland, so it really was an incredible experience,”
she said.
“Everything went as planned on the day and we did our best but my look was very editorial, whereas I think they were looking for something more commercial.”
The day started bright and early with Carron having her colour refreshed in our hotel room.
